After the huge success of the recent Sydney Scholarship, Life Instyle will be bringing the program to Melbourne in August 2020.
In an effort to continue to support small and local businesses and to further elevate start-ups and new exciting products, the New Breed Scholarship was introduced this year.
“As a team, we here at Life Instyle are fuelled by great design, lasting relationships, strong coffee and love nothing more than to see our brands soar. We know what it takes to start a business (equal parts, blood, sweat, tears and elbow grease) and we support the bold and the brave business owners who take risks,” says the team.
The Scholarship is an award program designed to give up and coming designers a kick-start as they take the leap into wholesale, with one lucky young brand receiving an envious prize package valued at over $6,000 including a stand at the upcoming Life Instyle Melbourne event in 2020.
Additionally, Life Instyle has again partnered with some incredible industry partners including The Lotco, the Life Style Edit and TheSuperCool.
Karina Jambrak, winner of the inaugural New Breed Scholarship, decided to apply after a friend sent her the link and suggested that she apply.
“I am ready to take my business to the next level and I knew that having as space at Life Instyle to showcase my work to the Australian retail world would be a beneficial next step to growing my brand,” she says.
“The fact that the scholarship came with a business mentor and content creator was a no-brainer―I couldn’t pass the opportunity up, I knew I had to apply.
“Life Instyle is all about nurturing Aussie brands and providing a space to help them grow and thrive. What was important to me when starting my brand was quality and sustainability. I love that Life Instyle is carefully curated and that they showcase brands that realise the importance of quality, sustainability and ethically made products,” she adds.
Applications are open to Australian and New Zealand businesses across all product categories that are within their first two years of trading, and who have not previously exhibited at Life Instyle. Submissions will be reviewed by an expert panel that will be looking at five key areas including creativity, innovation, quality, presentation and market readiness.
Applications close on Wednesday 25 March.
