Maison&Objet cancelled, first fair of 2021 to be held in September
With many European countries still in lockdown or heading for one, the organisers of Maison&Objet have decided to cancel the fair.
Originally slated for January, then moved to March, the ongoing fallout of the pandemic has made it basically impossible to organise a fair in these uncertain times.
“With the persistence of the Covid-19 pandemic that continues to prevent us from planning events smoothly and with the results of the latest surveys carried out among exhibitors and visitors, Maison&Objet has decided not to hold the first session of the fair in 2021, initially scheduled for the end of March,” the organisers say in a recently released statement.
“The next session of Maison&Objet Paris will therefore take place from 9 to 13 September 2021, in conjunction with Paris Design Week.”
The September fair will therefore be more encompassing and will enhance its programming with a focus on the Work! and Projects sectors. Work! focuses on innovations for workspaces and the office, an area that has experienced major shifts in terms of design over the past few months with many people working from home and new regulations due to Covid.
In the meantime, Maison&Objet will present a digital offering with eight thematic Digital Days, to be held every week from 27 January to 19 March 2021, every Wednesday to Friday.
The next Maison&Objet will be held from 9 to 13 September in Paris.
