Meet Eponine London founder, Jet Shenkman
Jet Shenkman is the founder and creative director of Eponine in London. We sat down with her at Style Bangkok to find out a bit more about her visit to the fair.
Why did you decide to visit Style Bangkok?
We actually got invited by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) to visit this beautiful fair. We made a dress for a guest attending the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle last year, which was a one-off, but must have grabbed the Style Bangkok organisers’ attention.
What are you hoping to find at the fair?
We aren’t exhibiting but are visiting to find new beautiful fabrics and get inspired. We make couture clothes and all the fabrics we use come from the Hmong Hill tribe which we source in the province of Chiang Mai.
They are a community who create these beautifully embroidered fabrics which are all one-off pieces.
Where else do you source your materials from?
Other than Thailand we mainly source fabrics from Africa and Peru. We use the UK mills for wool and tweeds.
