Melbourne Gift Fair kicks off trade fair season
Gifts and homewares retailers are more than ready to get their stores re-stocked after the Christmas season if the attendance at Reed Gift Fair Melbourne is anything to go by.
The regional fair attracted 6,000 visitors to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition centre from February 2 to 5.
It was the industry’s first taste of this season’s homewares, toys and accessories before the national event in Sydney later this month.
Exhibition director Stephen Steenson says the Sydney Reed Gift Fair is shaping up to be a big one.
“This is the 43rd year of Reed Gift Fairs and the enthusiasm and excitement it generates just continues to grow,” he adds.
“Reed Gift Fairs continues to support the gift and homewares wholesalers industry here in Australia. This year we wanted to do even more to connect to retailers, and with social media playing an increasingly important role in building brands and attracting customers, it was natural to offer a series of workshops on social media marketing. Interest is high so my advice to visitors in Sydney is – get in early and participate.”
