On the Gro scores product honours at business awards
on the gro’s kush-ee mat has taken out the title of best new product at the 2011 australian business awards (aba).
creator melanie seears, who is also nominated at this year’s bio-oil ausmumpreneur awards, developed the product when she couldn’t find a suitable mat after becoming a mother for the first time.
her invention was recognised by the awards judges as a product which has a point of difference from its competitors. to be nominated in the best new product category, items must have been launched after january 1 2010.
seears says the award win is confirmation the kush-ee mat is hitting the mark.
“this award reinforces our commitment to create unique, innovative and highly functional products that make parenting easier – with a priority for safety, teamed with a sense of style,” she says.
entries for this year’s awards were of an extremely high standard according to aba program director tara johnston.
“australian businesses continue to adapt business processes, invest in product development and develop dynamic e-business initiatives that increase productivity and quality standards for all,” she says.
“we are proud that the awards continue to promote the key values in the workplace, which foster a vibrant organisational culture and encourage enterprise, product innovation, service excellence, marketing excellence, environmental sustainability and community contribution.”
