Online store launched to help kids get into bed
a melbourne mum has created a kids bedding web shop inspired by her frustration when trying to get her children to sleep.
karen dyer, a mother of two boys, began searching for answers as a way to restore night-time harmony.
“i was beginning to sound like a broken record telling my boys over and over to get into bed,” she says. “that was only half the battle of course, because once in bed i had to coax them to stay there. the bedtime routine was becoming a living nightmare.”
after searching the internet and parent chat forums for answers she realised the key may be in the bedroom décor itself and used her family’s background in furniture and retailing to find two fun car themed beds for her boys.
“i thought to myself… we put so much effort into creating the perfect nursery but what about a beautiful, fun and safe dream space for toddlers?
“the bed is the focus for any bedroom and toddlers’ bedrooms are no different. the bed needs to appeal to the child to make them want to get into bed. it also needs to appeal to the parent to make the bedroom aesthetically pleasing.”
after finding the solution to her kids’ bedtime evasion tactics she set up her retail venture – get into bed. the online store’s range includes car, carriage and castle beds.
“beds can be purchased with or without mattresses. quality materials and mattresses by one of australia’s leading brands ensures longevity. my boys will enjoy their car beds for many years to come and my guess is we’ve created a fun themed bedroom to last 10 years,” she adds.
