Ruggable launches in Australia
American home goods brand Ruggable is bringing its machine-washable rugs, runners and doormats down under.
Creating a new approach to home design, Ruggable’s two-piece rug system takes the worry out of owning a luxurious rug, as the rug cover is stain-resistant, water-resistant and designed to fit in your home washing machine.
Founded by Jeneva Bell, she came up with the idea for Ruggable 10 years ago after her dog had an accident and ruined her new, expensive rug. She created the first Ruggable prototype in 2008 which was followed by many years of experimenting with designs and materials before the final product hit the market in 2017.
Having launched in the UK in October 2021 and in Germany in January 2022, Ruggable is now expanding into Australia.
“We’re really excited to be entering the Australian market and bringing our original washable rug down under,” enthuses Clay Wertheimer, VP & managing director UK, Europe and Australia.
“We’ve seen a growing demand for our products globally and Australia presents an exciting opportunity for us to offer our innovative rugs to a new audience. We’re thrilled to now offer our stylish and practical home decor solutions to Australian consumers.”
Ruggable is on a mission to help its customers live vibrantly and Australians are great at this because of their fun, active lifestyle and that’s why the brand is thrilled to bring its washable rugs to Australia, adds Wertheimer.
“With the convenience of easy cleaning without compromising on style or quality, the washable nature of Ruggable rugs addresses a significant need within Australian households, especially for busy parents, pet owners and those who love to entertain.
“With a diverse range of designs and patterns including collaborations with design icons like Jonathan Adler, Iris Apfel and most recently, Justina Blakeney, our rugs offer luxury without the worry.”
Justina Blakeney is the founder of the Los Angeles based bohemian-modern home decor brand Jungalow. A collection of rugs and doormats that are both beautiful and practical for everyday living features Blakeney’s original artwork and are now available in Australia.
“Our team is always on the lookout for collaborations that excite customers and reach new audiences. As a brand, we continuously innovate to deliver amazing high-end designs that are accessible to everyone.
“We know how positively customers have responded to our collaborations worldwide and we’re excited to work with local Australian partners to create bespoke collections in the near future,” says Wertheimer.
