South African homewares brand Carrol Boyes launches Australian company
In response to the needs of the local market, South African brand Carrol Boyes has set up an Australian base.
Changing its business model so it can expand its presence in the Australian market, the business has established a stocked third-party warehouse in Sydney to enable quicker delivery times for customers.
Caryn Hanley, director of Carrol Boyes Australia, is excited about the improved accessibility to the products.
“The changes to the business model mean that Australians will receive their orders quicker than before. With Christmas just around the corner, the range is ideal for mums, grandparents, art lovers, foodies and anyone looking for quirky homeware gifts.”
The company designs, manufactures and distributes an extensive range of over 1,000 handmade metal homewares, giftware, flatware and tabletop products. Of the 200 items designed each year, Carrol Boyes designs 70 per cent herself.
“I love the three-dimensional quality of sculpture, in the abstract way that beautiful shapes marry with human form,” says Boyes.
“I also love creating sculptures that can have a utilitarian function in the home and office as well. One thing we all share is our humanity, no matter what the differences are in our culture or aesthetic.
“By commenting on and portraying the human form and human emotion in my work, I am able to touch many people across the world. We all enjoy sharing a meal with the people we love, wherever we are, and hopefully the joy of the occasion and food is further enhanced by the humorous and sensual utensils we make.”
