Sustainable and ethical online store supports Aussie design
New research suggests a substantial shift towards conscious consumerism, with 87 per cent of Aussie shoppers more likely to purchase products that are ethically and sustainably produced.
This is great news for Aussie mums Nicole Campbell and Cindi Pereira, whose online store features a carefully curated selection of sustainable and ethical children’s products.
FOUND by Flynn was launched late last year and their motto ‘Finding for our Future’ signifies how the business curates its pieces while thinking of the future―the future of children and the earth.
Finding environmentally-friendly, ethical and safe products will protect not only children, but also the world that future generations will hopefully enjoy, say Campbell and Pereira.
“We are incredibly passionate about making sure our contribution to the world is positive in terms of environmental sustainability,” they say.
“We are focused on selling high quality items to minimise landfill and always look to source brands who share our commitment to the environment and who are pushing the message around being ethical and conscious about their footprint.”
The online store only features Australian designers and predominantly Australian made products.
“We only sell Australian brands and all our products are ethically made and sourced. We look for innovative products that focus on sustainability and ease for busy lives. We have a relationship with all of the brands we stock to ensure quality and reliability. Our products have been tried and tested by us, as it is important for us to truly love what we sell.”
The two mums want to support small business. They have worked in childcare for over 10 years and currently own and run a successful childcare business themselves, so they understand the needs of children and the numerous challenges faced by small operators.
“We love sharing a passion with other small Australian businesses to provide ethically made products as well as supporting other women in business.
“We understand the effect that consumerism has on the environment and want to steer ourselves away from any sort of fast fashion. We are very selective about the brands we sell and want to support the Australian market. We appreciate the work that goes into the design of the products we sell and want to celebrate other Aussie businesses as much as possible.”
The name FOUND by Flynn was inspired by Campbell’s son’s name, Flynn. Being a bub at the time of launch, he inspired a lot of their sourcing for essential baby products, which they both know from being mums can make new parenting a lot easier.
“We wanted the name to really represent our intention, which was to FIND the best products on the market and have them all in one place. FOUND By Flynn seemed to be the perfect name to encapsulate our vision and philosophy,” they enthuse.
Campbell and Pereira also run an affiliate program, where you can earn 10 per cent for every referral sale.
“As parents of young children we are always on the lookout for great products that make parenting that little bit easier. We love to share good finds with friends (and strangers) that can assist with practical everyday tasks. FOUND By Flynn is exactly that, a place where we find the best of the best and have them accessible in one place.”
