The Reject Shop launches charitable arm
Australia’s largest discount variety retailer, The Reject Shop has partnered with Good Beginnings Australia to launch not-for-profit organisation, The Reject Shop Foundation.
The initiative aims to help children in need by supporting programs in the areas of education, rural and remote accessibility, serious illness and social support.
“We are thrilled to launch The Reject Shop Foundation, in support of Good Beginnings Australia,” says Darren Briggs, The Reject Shop chief financial officer. “Our new foundation places us one step closer to achieving our aim of becoming the most trusted and respected retailer in Australia, as well as reinforcing community values.”
Good Beginnings Australia focuses on improving outcomes for children and their families in vulnerable communities through early intervention and practical parenting programs. It also provides playgroups, literacy programs and at-home volunteer visiting for new parents.
“We are thankful for the support of The Reject Shop Foundation and look forward to working collaboratively with the foundation to help achieve our vision of providing a good beginning for every child in Australia,” says Jayne Meyer Tucker, Good Beginnings Australia, CEO.
