australia’s leading children’s publisher, walker books, has announced its partnership with national year of reading 2012.
the project is a collaboration between libraries and library associations to inspire australians to discover or rediscover the joy of reading.
close to 50 per cent of australians don’t have the literacy skills to meet basic daily needs.

“celebrating and appreciating reading as a nation is a fantastic initiative which we are proud to support.”
a range of educational and fun reading activities will take place throughout the year across the country and online.
