Quality Products has been appointed the local supplier for UK brand ashortwalk, which designs and manufactures eco-friendly pieces for the garden and home.
The partnership will help meet demand in Australia for outdoor clocks, thermometers, moon and tide clocks and sundials. Other products in the range include bird feeders, plant pot holders and placemats.
Founder Lynette Gregory was approached four years ago when the brand first went to market overseas because the products sold well in stores that also carried Burgon and Ball, which Gregory distributes here, but was unable to take it on at that stage. However, after seeing it at two UK trade shows late last year and early this year she felt the timing was right to bring it down under.
“I really liked the quality of the product and the packaging, which has to fit into our ‘Quality Products’ number one requirement,” she says. “The fact that the range is made in the UK from recycled pot plants and coffee cups was another big factor [and] all the items in the ashortwalk range are useful and functional – Quality Products only distributes useful stuff.
“The fact that ashortwalk has won a number of eco and design awards as well as ‘best new product’ definitely confirmed this was the new product range for us to take on.”
Launched at the Sydney Home & Giving Fair in February, the range received a great response from retailers. Stock has just been shipped and Quality Products is preparing for reorders.
