Created by Alice Keep on her kitchen table three years ago, KeepResin evolved from a childhood love of unique jewellery and has now moved into homewares.
“I have been making jewellery for several years now and wanted to experiment with the medium to see if I could make larger objects,” Keep explains. “I also recently bought my first home and decided to create my own decorative pieces to personalise the space. Functional homewares items immediately came to mind as they can be both decorative and functional.”
Launched at August Life Instyle Melbourne, Keep says the new homewares range combines neutral tones and vibrant colours designed to work cohesively together, allowing for complementary pieces to mix and match.
“The colour range is complementary to what is in vogue at the moment with people introducing more colour into their homes as much as they are into their clothing choices. The range is also individually handcrafted, from the initial design through to the final stages of sanding. All homewares are produced by myself out of my studio on the Mornington Peninsula. My studio is open to the public and is one of three artist studios at Commonfolk – a cafe located in Progress Street, Mornington.”
The new homewares collection has been met with an overwhelming response.
“Customers have embraced the colours and designs from my most recent display at Life Instyle in Melbourne. I will be taking my homewares – and jewellery – collection to The Finders Keepers Market in Melbourne in October. Already it is being marketed as a great homewares gift in the lead up to Christmas.”
Keep will be adding new items to the range including larger scale pieces such as salad bowls and dinner sets. She is also collaborating with Indigenous artists on a unique Australian product. Both collections will be released early next year.
