Me2Me2 under new management
Children’s product wholesaler, Me2Me2, is now under new management after the previous owners sold the business to focus on a new direction.
New owner, Jacqui Macaulay, has big plans to grow the business by expanding its product range with the focus on pieces that allow children to explore their creativity and imagination.
“Because the name doesn’t specifically hold us to just certain products I want to extend to all sorts of things,” she says. “I’m bringing out a new school accessories range, new art smocks, new library bags. I’m [also] going to go into a bit of soft furnishings like cushions, bed linen, cot linen and it’s all going to be in limited amounts of certain materials, it’s not going to be a mass-produced thing.
“They’re all designed by us here in Australia and certain things are made either in India or China with Fair Trade, but I’m hoping to bring a little bit more of that back to Australia.”
Macaulay decided to take on the business as a way to fit work around her two daughters, aged 10 and seven. She says they are keen to help out with design inspiration and product testing.
“They’re really, really excited about it,” she adds. “It’s good because I can say to them – do you like this? What would you do with this? And even my daughter she’s got ideas for the hairdressers, ‘Oh mum you could add this, you could add that’.”
Me2Me2 is mostly business as usual but aims to be more active than in the past. Macaulay also has existing stock and is able to fill orders now.
