As we gear up to celebrate 40 years of Australian Giftguide magazine we take a look back at some of the more memorable products to have graced our pages. American Greetings created Care Bears for its greeting cards but it wasn’t long before they appeared on other products and their own TV series. Each bear came with its own personality and duty as represented by the symbol on its tummy. Care Bears licensed merchandise was described in Australian Giftguide as 1984’s retailing phenomenon.
