Aussie kids’ booties brand takes Las Vegas by storm
After a very successful Life Instyle in August, the two local mums behind the fabulous Minnow Designs decided to spread their wings and head for Las Vegas to showcase their fabulous beach booties at the Children’s Magic Club.
Minnow Designs is the brainchild of two friends turned mumpreneurs, Lorraine Cherry-Nguyen and Stacey Fisher. They went into business with a mission to design beautiful, purposeful products, and have done just that, ‘filling the gaps’ in a parent’s life by creating uniquely designed beach booties, to protect little feet whilst toddling through the Australian seaside.
“We took our SS2017 season of fun wetsuit beach shoes for toddlers to Melbourne,” say the duo. “We had the opportunity to speak to our existing retailers and pick up a few new ones too.
“We have all new prints this season. We’re a heavily print focused business. We also have some exciting innovations in the works at the moment which we can’t wait to share with our retailers early in 2018.”
After launching in the Australian summer of 2015-16, the pair and their business have continued to go from strength to strength, capturing the attention of parents across the country, and now they hope to take the US market by storm.
“We have a heavily seasonal product that appeals to a niche market,” explain the duo. “The most logical way to expand and manage our cash flow is to grow our reach geographically. There are 360 million Americans versus 24 million Australians. The market opportunity in the US versus here is really incomparable.”
As the only trade event in Las Vegas dedicated exclusively to the contemporary children’s brand market, the Children’s Magic Club is a great experience for both children’s fashion buyers and brands—representing the beginning of the fashion journey, says the duo.
