Kimm & Miller opens Australian firm
UK food and confectionery gift company Kimm & Miller has set up office in Melbourne to enhance its presence in the Australian gift sector after trading with Target since 2012.
Trish Muscat is heading the Australian branch and brings more than 20 years of retail experience to the role.
The move allows Kimm & Miller to conduct business locally year round without the challenges of distance.
“Australia holds great potential for Kimm & Miller and the gift markets in both countries have many similarities,” says William Pegg, brand manager. “In the current economy retailers are looking for more effective ways of doing business and as a result buyers are travelling less.
“There is much focus on the UK food and confectionery gifting each Christmas, many international buyers and design agencies visit London each year for inspiration and trend ideas and apply these findings to their next year’s development.
“Kimm & Miller Australia will be able to bring current UK innovation and market trends to the Australian market in ‘real-time’ rather than waiting until the following year. This coupled with great value, quality and desirable gift concepts should have quite an impact,” Pegg explains.
The company will look at both private label and branded food gift opportunities in Australia along with standard confectionery ranges. It also plans to design branded pet gifts and accessories.
“We currently work with a large number of high profile brand names in the UK and discussions are ongoing to extend these relationships to cover the Australian territory.”
