Dreamfarm & TOO Designs win Good Design Awards
After entering four products, kitchen tools and gadgets brand, Dreamfarm, scooped four awards at the recent 2021 Good Design Awards, a great result for a small Aussie business from Queensland.
Chief operating officer, Cate McDermott, says the brand’s goal is to enter every product it releases into awards like these.
“Winning them only reinforces what we are doing is working and makes us even hungrier to keep coming up with great ideas,” she enthuses.
“Our brand stands for only creating products that solve a problem, are original and work better than anything else on the market. Our longevity depends on our ability to stay focused on what makes us special and never relaxing the standards to which we hold ourselves.”
Designed in Australia, the winning gadgets include Brizzle, a silicone basting brush that bends to scoop up liquid from small spaces, drizzles to baste, and sits up with no drips, and Flisk, a balloon whisk that twists into a shallow sauce whisk or completely flat for deglazing and compact storage. Knibble is the non-stick cheese knife that slices, spreads and even forks to serve your nibbles and Icepo is an ice cream scoop that serves a perfect ½ cup portion and creates instant ice cream sandwiches.
“For our design team, these awards are the ultimate peer review. There’s nothing quite like being given a pat on the back for a job well done by other experts in your field. As a company, it means it’s time to put the credit card over the bar and celebrate,” says McDermott.
Dreamfarm is no stranger to winning awards. In recent years they have won a total of two gia Product Awards, nine Good Design Awards, one International Forum Product Design Award and seven Red Dot Design Awards.
Art and clock design company, TOO Designs, was also a winner at the Good Design Awards with its TOO Tone Clock. The brand scooped one for its Magnetic Art last year as well.
Co-founder Sureen Gouws says the Good Design Awards tick of approval can make the difference when customers are looking to purchase a product.
“We entered the Good Design Awards as we believe it gives a product the recognition of being well designed and meeting certain quality standards,” she says.
“It also testifies to a brand’s commitment to excellence in design and innovation. When customers consider purchasing your product, the Good Design Awards tick of approval gives them the assurance that it has been approved by a reputable organisation.”
