Abstract artist launches online store
chloe planinsek has taken her creative business to the next level by opening a web store to give her more access to clients and customers.
“a lot of the customers i’ve built up over the time they have to wait until the next exhibition, so this way it just let’s them access my art and all my latest news at the click of a button,” she says.
the victoria-based modern abstract artist has held successful exhibitions in both sydney and melbourne and also had offers to show in new york.
planinsek art features paintings, framed prints in three sizes and greeting cards. visitors to the site can also see examples of sold and commissioned work in case they are interested in a similar style piece.
all items on the website are available for wholesale purchase. planinsek says her greeting cards have done particularly well, especially at dymocks in collins place.
“they’ve been a fantastic stockist and they just keep getting really nice feedback from customers saying they’re just different and they’re very universal, they go for so many different occasions, they’re quite suitable… and i’ll continue to broaden the range where i can.
“they’re designs on a white backdrop so that way it’s almost a little bit [like a painting] on a wall, so they don’t take up the entire space of the greeting card for that reason,” she adds.
on the back of her greeting card success, planinsek would like to increase her range of stationery with notepads and notebooks but at this stage is working on packaged framed prints.
“sometimes – like with the people who like the greeting cards – they might want a bit of my art but not necessarily a huge amount of wall space for a large frame print or a large or small canvas. so the packaged prints are a nice price point and they can just pop them in the little photo frame or a frame of their own choice and either hang them on the wall or sit them on a mantel piece and that way it’s just bringing the art to a nice affordable level as well,” she explains.
planinsek will exhibit at decoration + design at melbourne exhibition centre from july 19 to 22.
