Annabel Trends releases Zoo Portraits collection
Annabel Trends has signed a licensing agreement for Australian and New Zealand manufacture and distribution of products based on Zoo Portraits photographs by Spanish artist Yago Partal.
The range includes magnets, tote bags, mugs and cushions and will be launched at Reed Gift Fairs Melbourne in August.
“We could definitely see a trend appearing of animals wearing clothes and we just loved the humour of it,” says Sally Dunn, Annabel trends director. “We spent hours Googling images until we came across Zoo Portraits by Yago Partal. His images are just amazing, such clarity and personality. The detail in his art is what makes them so special.
“Partal started this range a few years ago as his own fun design and it has quickly grown from there. Zoo Portraits has other licensed partners all over the world and we were lucky enough to get in early to be a part of this wave.”
Dunn believes Zoo Portraits is the perfect complement to Annabel Trends’ portfolio because it matches the company’s colourful and fun product focus.
“Zoo Portraits appeals to all demographics. We always find someone we know that looks like one of the characters, and we are sure others will too. We think that many stores will find a place for Zoo Portraits.”
Annabel Trends will also unveil Discover Australia, a collection of products featuring Australian icons in a colourful and fresh way. The range includes aprons, tea towels and mugs.
“We love searching out the new and different,” adds Dunn. “These two new releases have been developed to be both visually striking but also to appeal to a wide range of consumers. We’re really excited to be launching these and particularly the Discover Australia range as it’s something that the tourist and gift market have been crying out for.”
