Attic Accessories hits one year milestone with new collection
a melbourne based toiletry bag brand has unveiled its third collection as it celebrates a successful first year in business.
attic accessories was launched by mother and daughter miranda and fran bourke last year when they realised there was a gap in the market for stylish toiletry bags.
“we entered the toiletry bag market at a time when there were few other competitors and retailers were looking for someone or something to fill the gap,” they say.
“our customers have responded well to our fun range of fabric designs, as they felt many of the other toiletry bags on the market were daggy or too conservative. our designs appeal to a younger more modern audience.”
the duo says the lead up to christmas is already keeping them too busy to officially celebrate the anniversary of the business.
“[it’s] always the busiest time for wholesalers and retailers so unfortunately there hasn’t been much time to celebrate our first birthday… we’ve just continued on filling orders and working on our next collection, so the celebrations will just have to wait until our second birthday.”
another big achievement for attic accessories is notching up 50 stockists in australia and new zealand, with products available in a range of styles and fabrics including the recently launched plain coloured collection.
“our stockists had been asking for a range of toiletry bags in plain colours that would assist with merchandising and would also appeal to a more conservative audience, so we created it.
“our latest collection has been very well received with our existing and new retail stockists. our stockists are finding that the collection is selling quickly especially as we approach christmas and the gift-buying season really begins,” explain miranda and fran.
heading into their second year the duo aims to expand their product range and add new fabric designs.
“we will continue to refine and develop our toiletry and cosmetic bag collection with the introduction of new designs and new fabric prints. we also hope to expand our collection into new areas.
“we are interested in designing a men’s collection as we have found there are very few men’s toiletry bags on the market at the moment. we are also interested in creating some larger items including overnight and weekend travel bags.”
