Australian brand in-wood launches at Reed Gift Fairs
When it comes to sustainability and natural materials, in-wood ticks all the boxes. Australian designed and made, the brand is created by Lou Trevitt and Archie Morris, who explain the philosophy behind the designs is all about going in-wood.
“This range has been created with a mindful approach to play and connecting into our intention and our wellbeing, whether appealing to the child’s focus or their emotional state and communicative understanding,” they say.
“We wanted to provide a medium that no matter the age of the child (or adult!), there is room for self-expression.”
Axis Toys has taken on the brand and launched it at the recent Reed Gift Fair in Melbourne, with guests at the stand enjoying some bubbles while getting to know more about the new collection, which includes stacking stones in naturals and natural dyes, a mandala puzzle, chakra pyramid and natural pyramid as well as mindful spindles.
Using Australian FSC Certified blue and spotted gum, the range is endorsed by environmental initiative OneStreet.
“OneStreet was founded in May 2019 with a simple mission―to help reconnect people at the individual, community and environmental level,” explains Dr Annette Davison, OneStreet chief thinker and co-founder.
“We have three principles―be kind to yourself, be kind to your community and be kind to your environment. OneStreet is very proud to support Axis Toys’ ‘in-wood’ range, as it fits perfectly with OneStreet’s principles.
“OneStreet has been privileged to have been included on the ‘in-wood’ journey and we look forward to seeing the growth of this wonderful Axis Toys’ product range,” she adds.
The range is designed in Australia using FSC Certified Australian timbers that have been aged for over two years. Each piece is finished with mineral oils or in natural pigment dyes (that are plant based and food grade) that reflect our Australian palette.
All packaging used has also been approached in a mindful manner with re-use recycle materials towards a cleaner environment step by step.
“Every decision made in the making of these products comes from the heart and to tread safely on this planet,” say Trevitt and Morris.
Each pack also contains a seed paper from Seedpaper Australia so that you can give back to the earth.
