Australian online designer gift store launches
Combining fancy with function, new website prinkbox.com.au is bringing personalised gift giving online.
Stocking over 50 boutique brands as well as design-led homewares and handmade jewellery, the site aims to be an alternative to “impersonal and useless things”, according to Prinkbox co-founder Quinn Le, who started the site with Aaron Lee.
“Finally there’s an online source for statement pieces and conversation starters that combine fancy with function,” he explains. “Across all devices, the pioneering ‘Gift Finder’ tool offers quick-browse by personality and/or occasion. It’s like having a matchmaking service between character and presents at your fingertips.”
The name Prinkbox was carefully selected and Lee says that it describes “our feminine persona that we feel attracts our audience. Prink is synonymous with frequently used verbs pretty and groom but is not as commonly mentioned hence its uniqueness. Box is suggestive of an online gift experience that is uncommon in a good way.”
The site is frequently updated with the latest finds, which are sourced and hand-picked from designers and exclusive design powerhouses in the US, Scandinavia, Europe and East Asia. Brands include Chilewich, Design House Stockholm, MoMA, Nomess, Snurk and Umbra.
The collection includes hard-to-find boutique brands, unheard-of treasures and limited short-run pieces with bedding, cushions, cookware, elegant jewellery pieces and quirky items such as a tepee tent for your furry four-legged friend all available online.
There are hundreds of gifts for under $100 and free delivery and returns on orders over $100. “There’s no need to shop around. We’re thinking outside the gift box,” says Le.
