Buckley & Phillips expands Gumleaf Essentials collection
Aromatherapy company Buckley & Phillips has added the nourishing hand cream range to its Gumleaf Essentials brand to meet customer demand for a lotion type product in a convenient, portable size.
“Our convenient hand creams now allow you to take our most popular aromatherapy blends with you wherever you are,” says Ben Phillips, art director. “Aromatherapy is becoming increasingly popular and this product just makes it more accessible to people who may not have discovered the benefits of using natural essences.”
It comes 12 months after a re-brand of Gumleaf Essentials with five new essential oil blends which lead Buckley & Phillips to move into body care products for the first time since the business first started in the 1970s.
The hand cream comes in three fragrance blends and is made using natural botanical ingredients such as Shea butter and macadamia oil. Its packaging reflects the natural origin of the ingredients as well as the heritage of the brand.
“Right from the beginning we wanted to produce something that was honest, natural, beautiful and local – something that we’d want to use ourselves. A product that was appealing to both men and women. Our firm belief has also been that beautiful, Australian made, premium quality products shouldn’t have to cost a fortune.”
Buckley & Phillips has had a positive response to Gumleaf Essentials since unveiling the re-vamped products to trade. The brand was created to counteract the trend of manufacturing going overseas.
“From the aesthetic/design point of view I was inspired by the beautiful antique medicinal bottles that my wife, a sculptor in her spare time, had collected to use in her artworks. I wanted to combine the look of vintage design – especially the gorgeous apothecary bottles of yesteryear – with a contemporary feel,” adds Phillips.
