Cooee Brands donates 10% of profits from Koala Packs launched at Sydney Gift Fair
While we have had plenty of rain over the last couple of weeks to help with the drought and bushfires, our support is still very much needed in any way possible.
To support the current wildlife crisis, Cooee Brands is donating 10 per cent of its profits from the Koala Plush Pack & Koala Souvenir Pack being sold at the Sydney Gift Fair to Taronga Conservation Society.
“For years, we have been supporting Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) through our Matchmates Products,” says Cooee Brands principal Neil Cope.
“Now, to help restoring Australian Wildlife impacted by the devastating bushfires that happened recently, we decided to take another step.”
The packs have been specially created for the fair to help increase awareness of the Australian wildlife crisis and for charitable purpose.
“We have run packs at trade fairs for a number of years, when compiling our packs for this year it was apparent that the koala packs were particularly relevant, which we realised quite late in the day.
“We supply Taronga Zoo with product and asked them if we could donate to them, they agreed and offered their imagery. We hope for positive feedback due to the harm that the wildlife has experienced and with the great work that Taronga Conservation Society does we hope we can do our little bit to help,” says Cope.
The impact of the catastrophic bushfires and ongoing drought has been devastating and heartbreaking. The fires have decimated already fragile animal populations. According to Australia’s Environment Minister, 30 per cent of koalas on the New South Wales mid-north coast may have been killed in the country’s bushfire crisis.
Even though the bushfires have ended, the next couple of years will be difficult for wild koalas, as it will take years to restore their habitat and improve their life quality.
Cooee Brands offers a 20 per cent discount against its normal list prices on the packs. “If the retailers sell the product at our recommended retail prices they will make a 62 per cent margin. At the same time we will donate 10 per cent of the profit we make on the packs to Taronga Conservation Society.”
The Plush Pack contains eight Items with 32 pieces in total in the pack. The Souvenir Pack contains 13 Items with 137 pieces in total in the pack. The range of items in both packs is broad with the higher quality higher retail items.
“The items are all strong sellers so the stock will sell―everyone wins, including the koalas,” enthuses Cope.
