Love Mae co-founder Emily Chamberlain has combined her passion for creativity and business to launch her own stationery and leather goods label Marvellous.
“There is something inside every entrepreneur that can’t be contained,” she says. “It must be expressed and explored for one-self to feel sane. I am very privileged to have had prior business experience for the last four years in Love Mae, so I have taken these skills into Marvellous.”
Her new venture is about finding ways of combining stationery and leather together and using traditional techniques with a modern twist.
Products available to wholesale clients include letterpress cards, leather hand clutches and iPhone/card pouches. Chamberlain will also consider offering a handmade backpack or handbag on request.
“I honestly love the two mediums and the craftsmanship involved. It may sound a bit dorky to love that kind of thing but I think if you are passionate about something you need to pursue it – even if it’s a desire to own your own ice-cream truck. That love is there for a reason and only you can express it in a way unique to you.
“I hope to see Marvellous in boutiques that support local and international artists and labels,” she adds. “Stores that have a great combination of goods where the customer is delighted by the whole experience. I personally prefer to shop in a boutique or my local small business because I know that I am always going to find something beautiful and unique.”
Chamberlain’s goal for Marvellous is to explore the design process and create products that connect with people and bring them joy.
