Eco-friendly crockery range to be extended
independence studios (is) e-bamboo brand will be extended with new products in time for the august gift fair.
the coloured crockery is, as the name suggests, made from bamboo – a natural woody plant which grows organically and does not need to be replanted.
e-bamboo products are the result of a collaboration between is and an overseas business involved in turning bamboo into practical pieces.
“we had been looking for an extension of our eco range and the fun design and great colours were the perfect fit for what we were looking for,” says james smail, is ceo. “the e-bamboo is perfect for parties, picnics and bbqs or is great to add colour to the table for everyday meals.”
the range includes bowls, plates, cups, jugs and reusable takeaway hot drink cups. all are highly durable, reusable, food safe and heat resistant but when customers wish to throw them out they can feel good knowing the product is biodegradable.
“by using bamboo to create these fantastic products, the e-bamboo range hopes to do its part in reducing people’s reliance on diminishing timber lands and petroleum-based resources. harder than red oak and graphite, the durable plant is also a practical choice for use in and around the kitchen because it absorbs little moisture, making for less shrinkage, swelling and warping.”
with the growth of e-bamboo’s product range planned for later this year is is confident sustainable products will be in demand for quite some time.
“this range has been launched on the back of the success we have had with eco products, this combined with the response for retailers and the media alike we anticipate a great consumer reaction,” smail adds.
