Everingham & Watson moves into wholesaling
After a year and half of online retail and two pop up stores, Queensland brand Everingham and Watson (E&W) has added a wholesale arm to the business.
Susie Everingham and Liz Watson decided to take their quirky tea towels, cushions and chalk boards to trade in time for Christmas and gave retailers their first taste of the brand at Life Instyle Melbourne.
“E&W was born out of the two of us wanting to combine our love of fossicking for goods and creating our own range of homewares and gifts that imbue a healthy dose of character and whimsy,” say the long-time friends.
Tea towels have overwhelmingly been the most popular E&W product with retailers. The collection includes a range of pineapple prints in various colours as well as prawn and there are also collectible spoon and wattle prints.
“We love our country and our unique lifestyle, and feel there is a real gap out there for locally designed and made, premium quality goods that reflect this Australian laidback-ness – the sense of humour, the she’ll-be-right attitude, even our hardy colonial/rural heritage – we are Queenslanders after all and we love the big things. The pineapple, the prawn, the banana – these are our shrines. It goes without saying that all E&W ranges are made in Australia,” add Everingham and Watson of their designs.
E&W plan to release two collections per year and continue their annual pop up shop.
