Funky Homes relaunches with fresh look and concept
Tasmanian store Funky Homes has taken the Hobart shopping experience to the next level after revamping the store with a Salt&Pepper brand environment and interior décor display area.
Owner Helena Facer had been planning to give her store a makeover when Salt&Pepper approached her to expand its presence in store. The brand now has a dedicated seven metre wall of its products from the Fashion for Your Home range.
“I have always dreamed of having the store presented in a certain way and to be honest this has been in the pipeline for over two years and I just needed a reason over and above my own want to do it,” she says. “It has always been a major focus of mine to offer things to our customers that are not readily available in the marketplace and at a price that is affordable. So by doing a relaunch we were able to bring these two things into line.”
The new concept booth will provide customers with a source of inspiration as it will display a room from the home and show how products can work together. Funky Homes will further connect with its fans through social media and newsletter sketches and mock ups reflecting the display area.
“It is a space that allows us to constantly change our presentation, be it changing the room we are representing in the house or simply the soft furnishings to give a totally different look and style. It could be seen as a very large window display – within our four walls – but one you can touch, feel and try out.”
Facer has had an overwhelmingly positive response to the new look and features from both customers and suppliers. She says the revamp is the last step in “getting the business to where it has always been headed.
“[The goal is] to offer the consumer a fresh and different shopping experience than what they can get elsewhere. One that is always evolving, interesting and allows us to showcase new brands and designers that rival those you can get in Melbourne and Sydney,” she adds.
