children with gluten intolerance can now join in the fun in the kitchen with the release of australia’s first gluten-free baking kit for kids.
the product from springhill farm includes a mini apron, cookie cutters, a flour mix and biscuit recipe. kids with a range of dietary intolerances can also make the cookies as the flour mix is also dairy, wheat, egg, nut and soy free.
tested by the ballarat based brand, the mix can also be used to make pancakes, bread and pizza.
fiona whatley, co-owner of springhill farm, says the kit was made so that everyone can enjoy a treat.
“we made it our mission 10 years ago to create sweet treats everyone – with or without intolerance – could enjoy,” she says. “with a growing need for tasty alternatives for children with an increasing instance of dietary intolerance, we had to come up with a solution.
“plus, as parents, we know just how important it is for kids, especially those affected by coeliac disease or the like, to have fun and learn in the kitchen.”
