Hunting for George collaborates with Grazia & Co
Homewares supplier Hunting for George has partnered with Melbourne designer Grazia Materia for its latest furniture collection.
The new range consists of locally made furniture pieces and home accessories. Co-founder Jo Harris says Materia’s devotion to Australian made items is something the company always wanted to support.
“We were thrilled to collaborate with Grazia,” she says. “We’ve known each other for a few years now and we’ve always admired Grazia’s exceptional knowledge of materials and craftsmanship… We relish the opportunity to make products locally when we can.”
As part of the collection Hunting for George has launched Rollo, a cylindrical solid ottoman, which like many of the other pieces is handmade in Melbourne.
“The ottomans are constructed from a timber frame, covered with a green star rated commercial grade foam and then upholstered in either a quality wool upholstery or tan aniline leather,” explains Materia.
“I love the versatility of the Rollo Ottoman. They are great as side tables as they have a firm top and they can also be useful as an additional seat at the dinner table or desk.”
The partnership also introduces wool upholstery to the classic Hunting for George Oliver bed. “We reached out to Grazia for advice on upholstering our Oliver bed,” explains co-founder Lucy Glade-Wright.
“We looked through a range of fabrics and chose a wool fabric that is subtle with both warm and cool tones. It was important to us that we maintain the uncomplicated nature of our design and we felt that this fabric would be able to complement a range of different colours and textures in the bedroom.
“It’s remarkable how much the upholstery changes the overall aesthetic of the Oliver bed. It adds an incredible tactile quality with the addition of fabric and the foam padded back also creates a new focal point and enticing resting area.”
Hunting for George also stocks Materia’s signature homewares collection Grazia & Co which includes pieces such as the Tommy tray, Big Boy floor cushion and Aliya bedside table.
