Importer brings popular UK craft brand down under
Bright Baby Imports has taken on one of the UK’s best-loved brands, Buttonbag, which is a perfect fit for the children’s toys, gifts and games distributor.
Owner Teresa Roos discovered the brand a little while back, but only recently decided to add it to her portfolio.
“I discovered this gorgeous brand whilst roaming the streets of Covent Garden in London a number of years ago,” she explains. “At this time they were still in their infancy, not quite ready for international distributors. I’ve been keeping an eye on them ever since.”
Sold in majors as well as small independent stores across the UK, Roos says what attracted her to the brand was that it had taken something old and made it new again.
“These beautifully presented kits are designed in the UK and use a range of beautiful fabrics, wools and trimmings. We love the way that they are breathing new life into old crafts by updating them in a fresh, contemporary way. We have also found that due to kids increasingly leading busy and structured lives, toys that invite creative play are increasing in popularity.”
Buttonbag’s kits are packed full of easy projects and are perfect for little fingers. Importantly, each craft kit contains everything needed to make the finished item.
“They are guaranteed to keep little ones busy while they learn to knit, cross stitch, crochet, sew and create,” says Roos. “These kits can also help children develop important cognitive and fine motor skills. In addition to this they are well priced and we believe that the response to this brand will be very positive.”
Buttonbag will be available in Australia from June 2016.
