Interior designer launches online store
Cairns based interior designer, Julia Ryan, has opened an online store to provide customers with eclectic and colourful pieces for their homes.
Living Colour Homewares offers vintage designer fabric cushions – featuring Ryan’s own collection of vintage fabrics dating back as far as the 1970s – Indigenous design cushions, decorative accessories, furniture and lamps/shades.
“An online store gives me the opportunity to source homewares and furniture which complement the eclectic and colourful Living Colour Homewares style and to stamp my own personal style on the collection,” she says.
“My intention is to source beautiful and unique products, in an interesting combination of classic, vintage, global and contemporary styles, all highlighting bold colour and design. Thus allowing customers to mix and match styles to create their own special eclectic look.
“At Living Colour Homewares I wish to feature special finds and style ideas from different places and cultures to celebrate and showcase a global influence highlighting handcrafted, quality pieces for the home,” adds Ryan, who has also worked in bricks and mortar retail and was once a store manager for Laura Ashley.
Ryan’s Cairns base will have no effect on shipping times as she has a special arrangement to have products dispatched directly from her suppliers’ Sydney and Brisbane warehouses. She can also organise appointments to view pieces in their showrooms if they’d like to see items in person.
The store is aimed at consumers interested in home accessories and furniture that are unique and not available mainstream. She plans to continue adding new products to the store including her own designs.
