KeepCup debuts new Helix range
After inspiring millions of people across 75 countries to reduce and reuse by ditching single use coffee cups and plastic water bottles from their daily routine, KeepCup has introduced a new twist on reuse.
Its first new collection since inception, the Helix range comes with an array of innovative screw-fit products including a 2-in-1 cup to bottle kit.
“KeepCup started the reuse revolution when it was founded in 2009 and more than a decade in, it feels like we’re right back at square one,” says Abigail Forsyth, KeepCup’s co-founder and managing director.
Indeed, Aussies are addicted to convenience culture and our reliance on single-use plastics has resulted in our country using 3.5 million tonnes of plastic every year.
“Undoubtedly, the pandemic has derailed the war on reusables leading to a resurgence of single-use coffee cups and waste.
“It’s for this reason that KeepCup has designed and developed its new Helix range to champion a future where choosing to reuse is fun, inclusive and easy.”
The Helix cup includes a new, fully-sealed, dual-plug screw-fit lid. The interchangable, twist-fit design allows users to turn their KeepCup into a bottle by switching from the cup lid to a bottle extension.
“We’ve always been committed to designing innovative products which challenge the reality of our landfill-based economy. Our Helix range is no exception, which has been designed with careful consideration of our consumers’ needs.
“Even for committed reusers, the need to carry a reusable cup and a water bottle can be a barrier to repeat behaviour, particularly when traveling or out and about. The Helix range fits their lifestyle with ease, the 2-in-1 system is a constant reminder to refuse single use,” adds Forsyth.
The new collection also maintains KeepCup’s commitment to a local and ethical supply chain.
“Through considered design and material choices, we have not only eliminated unnecessary raw material from the system, we have also offered consumers more opportunities for people to choose to reuse.
“Assembled in our local hubs, the Helix range fits seamlessly into an active lifestyle, city cafes and hiking trails alike, making reuse the more convenient and enjoyable alternative to single-use plastic cups and bottles,” concludes Forsyth.
