Kids’ brand The Little Blah! launches to trade
At just five months old, Linda Carter’s brand The Little Blah! is still very much in its infancy but it is growing fast.
A rising interest in children’s décor while on maternity leave led Carter to launch her range, which she did from her home in Melbourne alongside her husband, who also has a background in the design industry.
Their cute collection of wall decal clocks, cards and art prints feature little characters designed by Carter and would be at home in stores that stock bright, colourful products.
“We are a small, family-run business that is passionate about supporting other local, Australian-owned businesses,” Carter says.
“We develop our products with little people in mind—playful, unique and colourful characters that bring fun and colour to any child’s bedroom or play space.”
The business currently donates $2 from every transaction to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), which Carter says is to “help ensure the future is brighter for children to experience and enjoy. We love everything they stand for and do to help animals, especially endangered species.”
Five months after launching her business, Carter is focused on expanding the brand and getting more retail exposure. She will be exhibiting at Reed Gift Fairs Melbourne in February, and is also planning to grow her product range.
“2017 is going to be exciting,” she says. “We are investing in a vinyl cutter to expand our range into kids’ clothing and cushions all featuring our colourful characters.
“We started with our wall decal clocks and now have a range of greeting cards and art prints, but our long-term goal is to expand to have a range of products all featuring our characters.”
