Life Instyle launches Meet Your Makers Live Studio in Melbourne
To help celebrate the culture and diversity of Melbourne, Life Instyle Melbourne is coming back to town (31 July – 3 August) and will launch a brand new feature – the Meet Your Makers Studio, which will feature Melbourne’s eclectic mix of artisans and designers in a live workshop studio at Australia’s premier designer and homewares trade event.
Live on site, the designers will showcase their craftsmanship, talent and technique – including electric painting and graffiti, old-world charm signwriting and decadent floral sculpture – an initiative set to inspire Melbourne’s creative sensibility and rich artistic diversity.
The studio presents a ‘behind-the-scenes’ opportunity to see how these visionaries and creators bring their designs to life, learn how these beautiful products and designs are created, what materials are used and the level of skill and technique involved. This outstanding feature is fitting for Life Instyle’s 2014 Melbourne concept – Meet Your Makers – a celebration of artisans and designers’ fierce creations and impeccable craftsmanship.
Fourteen artists will each individually showcase their skills and technique live at the event including Melbourne creative designer Tamara Maynes with Modern Macramé, Jess Cameron-Wootten on Cordwaining & Leather Work, Melbourne florist Cecilia Fox with Melanie Stapleton’s gorgeous floristry, Leigh Brodie & Albert He from Graine showcasing their leather goods plus many more.
Heralded as Australia’s destination for culture and design, Melbourne is a city which fuses art with opulence; where bustling streets intersect cobblestoned laneways; and unique expressions of art are celebrated on city walls. Meet Your Makers Studio is set to electrify and exemplify this notion inside the stunning grounds of the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton Gardens.
Retailers and buyers are invited to register now for a sourcing experience unlike any other at Life Instyle and Kids Instyle Melbourne from 31 July – 3 August at the Royal Exhibition Building.
