Lovehate expands range
Melbourne design label Lovehate has expanded its product range with a collection of ceramic planters and vessels.
Known for fashion and jewellery, the brand’s designer Geneine Honey wanted to add pieces for the home to her product offering.
“The ceramics are a new thing for us,” she explains. “I have always designed jewellery but lately have found myself itching to make some items for the home, as I decorate my own.
“The vessels are an extension of our winter jewellery collection. The shape of the vases is actually the same shape as the beads on faceted bead necklace. It all started with the drawing for the bead – it was such a lovely sketch that we started playing around with it and quite quickly arrived at the trio of vases.”
Honey started with planters because of her love for indoor plants. “I really love having lots of plants indoors. I had been struggling to find something cute to plant into that would fit on these window ledges in my house, so I decided to make something that would work.”
Colours chosen for the planters and vessels tie in with the rest of Lovehate’s jewellery range. The pieces have a fashion edge, making them a standout against traditional homewares.
The vessels and planters proved so popular during their first showing at Life Instyle Sydney that the production order had to be doubled.
