Mozi launches new range inspired by overseas travel
mozi has drawn on its love of overseas travel to create its latest winter range, guarda pampa, using geometry and colour instead of the usual flower and animal ranges.
the collection of knitted products including throws, cushions, ipad covers, chindi bags and snuggly hot water bottles all feature striking geometric patterns.
director camilla tipler says argentina was their destination of choice when it came to deciding on a location for inspiration.
“the geometric pattern can be found on leather accessories in argentina – we have translated this to textiles and added a lot more colour,” she explains.
tipler says they often draw on international travel for design ideas.
“it’s what reminds us of so many amazing places in the world that have incredible design and local crafts.”
hot water bottle covers are expected to be the most popular product and it’s hoped the range will inspire customers to take their own trip to argentina and see the guarda pampa style first hand.
developed in collaboration with melbourne designers otto & spike, tipler says it was a fabulous and very fun experience.
“we have made friends with the team over the years through the industry and loved their skills and local manufacturing capabilities,” she says.
“we hope [there’ll be more collaborations with otto & spike]. it will always be a limited edition and that’s what makes it so appealing – not everyone can have one.”
