NY NOW returns to Jacob K Javits Centre this August
NY NOW will be the first major event to run at the reopened Jacob K. Javits Convention Centre this August in New York.
Running from 8 to 11 August, the Summer Market will be back after postponing and then cancelling the show last year at the height of the pandemic.
“The NY NOW team is delighted to be back in-person at the Javits Centre this August, on the traditional dates of the NYC gift and home market,” says Tim Hart, SVP NY NOW.
“Our role has always been to support our community of small businesses and that role has never been more important than now. This is such an exciting time for New York City and all of us have a role to play in its cultural and economic resurgence. We know buyers are ready to meet in-person and we cannot wait to gather at Javits this August for a safe and productive market and play our part.”
Indeed, both exhibitors and buyers are looking forward to attending the fair in person again after going digital for more than a year.
“I cannot wait to get back on the show floors at NY NOW to feel the pulse of the market, to get inspired by all the creativity and to catch up and connect with so many people in the industry,” says Audrey Woollen of Urbanic.
“There is no better way to choose goods for Urbanic then by carefully selecting the product first hand.”
The Javits Centre is among the safest venues in the country and has received Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) accreditation, implementing the industry’s highest standards for cleaning and disinfection, adds Alan Steel, president and CEO of the Javits Centre.
Javits has also installed hospital grade High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters to improve air filtration and ventilation. In fact, the entire volume of air within the building is completely exchanged five times per day.
“NY NOW has always been one of the most successful biannual events at the Javits Centre and we are thrilled it will return as our first major event since the pandemic,” says Steel.
“This has been such a challenging year for our industry, but as our city and state begin to reopen, meeting in person has never been more valued. We look forward to leading New York’s economic resurgence with the exhibitors and organisers of NY NOW. See you in August.”
