One-stop online store marks its first anniversary
Online furniture and homewares retailer, Zanui.com.au, is celebrating its first year in business boasting more than 650 brands and 16,000 products including exclusive ranges such as Maxwell and Williams.
Zanui launched in January 2012 when co-founders Dean Kelly and Joakim Broms saw a gap in the Australian online retail market for adults and kids’ furniture and homewares.
In just one year the company has grown from a two person operation to a thriving business with over 50 staff. In its first year of trading the site peaked at an average of 300,000 visits per month.
“We are so proud of our team and the company’s achievements in this first 12 months,” says Kelly. “There is still so much we want to do in the next 12 months, but it is great looking back on what has been an amazing ride so far.
“In addition to all Australian cities, we have customers from all across the country including remote areas such as many of Queensland’s Islands, Alyangula in the NT and even Christmas Island. Along with my co-founder and co-managing director Joakim Broms, we are now looking forward to taking Zanui to the next phase of its growth in 2013 and continuing to offer a fantastic Australian online shopping experience for both new and seasoned online shoppers.
“Australians are changing the way they buy their furniture and homewares – people want this product available online, no one wants to wait in long queues whilst shopping, they want choice, and they want it delivered to their doorstep, and that is what we are providing our customers – not only inspirational products, but inspirational ideas to furnish their home,” adds Kelly.
Zanui recently launched its mobile site which enables customers to browse zanui.com.au wherever they go and track the progress of their orders every step of the way on their mobile phones.
“We are really excited about the launch of our mobile site which will provide our customers with the ultimate online shopping experience,” says Kelly. “A number of our competitors do not have mobile sites, and those that do have brought across only limited features and functionality from their desktop sites. In contrast, we at Zanui have ensured that all information and features available on our desktop site is available on the mobile site.”
The company also has plans for launching its own furniture line.
