Recycled and upcycled pieces from Vast Furniture & Homewares
While most companies are living life in the fast lane ie churning out large quantities of standardised products through mass manufacturing, Vast Furniture & Homewares is bucking the trend with its quality furniture and homewares that are all individually designed, environmentally sustainable and handmade.
CEO Ross Clayton says sustainability is front of mind for Vast with the company taking great pride in using recycled and ‘upcycled’ materials throughout their supply chain.
“We are at the forefront of the furniture industry, constantly challenging our competitors to step up to our level and outside of their comfort zones,” he says.
“Constructing products from ethically sourced materials is a big point of difference between Vast and its competitors. We can keep costs down to ensure the products remain at the highest quality but at an affordable price for our clientele.”
Clayton founded the company when he was just 30 years old and his vision has remained the same―to create versatile original furniture full of heart and soul ranging from wooden tables and bedroom furniture made from disused shipping timber, to vegan leather sofas.
“We channel inspiration from across the globe to create a style that transcends time. We never produce a ‘vanilla’ design.
“We focus on a traditional trade, with all products being handmade. Once it has been built correctly, it will last.”
Vast has stores in more than 25 locations in both Australia and New Zealand, and for the last 17 years sofas, bedding and dining tables have been its top sellers.
“The dining table is the central piece of the family home, the place where moments are made,” he adds.
