Shanghaied embraces colour with new ranges
Taking inspiration from the latest trends in colour and fashion, gift and homewares wholesaler Shanghaied has developed a new range of wall décor, clocks, mirrors, lanterns and candle stands.
David Schwartz, owner and managing director of Shanghaied, says the company has worked closely with designers to create a fashionable and diverse range with colour stories that will appeal to every customer. “Our products embrace soothing sensual colours along with bright vibrant colours that will give a wow factor to any household,” he says.
Building on the metallic trend that was popular last season, Shanghaied has used different shades of gold on its mirrors and lanterns, which Schwartz says will complement the company’s copper trays and side tables. Candle holders in salmon pink, peach and royal blue, and geometric patterned boxes, provide a contrast to the metallic items.
The wholesaler has also created themed ranges, focusing on the outdoors and coffee. “We have reconnected with nature by bringing nature indoors with products such as our rustic bird themed crackled wall décor and tiny ceramic birds. Then there is the coffee culture. Our coffee themed wall décor and clocks are inspired by the growing coffee culture in Australia.”
Shanghaied’s latest collection will be on display at the Sydney Home & Giving Fair in February, and Schwartz thinks the products will get a positive response. “We’re definitely hoping for excitement and optimism from our retailers. We have an extensive selection of synchronised colour stories and ranges, with lots of new colour, designs and materials. We trust our retailers will be enthusiastic about this new range and expect the same enthusiasm to flow on to their customers.”
