Sydney design label elly&eve moves into wholesaling
Screen printed textiles and soft furnishings by elly&eve can now be stocked by retailers after the brand moved into wholesaling
Named after founder and designer Melissa Gooley’s grandmothers, elly&eve offers 100 per cent handmade products including cushions, napkins and totes.
Gooley decided to start wholesaling to increase awareness of her brand.
“The decision to wholesale felt like a natural transition as it allows the elly&eve brand to reach a wider audience throughout Australia,” she says. “I am interested in the current retail market, so I enjoy meeting with the different buyers and retailers – the feedback and market insight they provide is very valuable to me and my label.”
elly&eve kicked off its move into wholesaling at Life Instyle Melbourne. Its most popular product was the Mama Mosaic black cotton tote, which Gooley says allows consumers to get a taste for the brand at an accessible price point.
“I received some great feedback from retailers specialising in screen-printed fabrics, along with retailers looking for splashes of colour to brighten up their stores over the summer and festive season,” she adds.
“I love the entire design process – from hand sketches to hand screen-printing, there is something so special about hand crafted textiles. When you purchase an elly&eve item, you are receiving a truly unique item as no two items can ever be the same.”
Work will soon get underway to design elly&eve’s second range.
