Tinco signs licensing agreement for Peter Rabbit
Tinco will release a series of tin related Peter Rabbit products in time for Easter after signing a licensing deal for the classic character.
The range includes a money box, lunch box, pencils in tin, stickers in tin and an acrylic glitter beaker.
“We have a strong customer base that we know Peter Rabbit will appeal to and we believe we will achieve a lot of growth by many new customers coming on board once we show the products at the Melbourne and Sydney gift trade fairs,” says Andrew Walsh, Tinco managing director.
“I believe [Peter Rabbit] connects two generations; we find a large percentage of customers who purchase our merchandise are grandparents whose own childhood memories draw them to Peter Rabbit and the recipients – the grandchildren – in turn fall in love with Peter.”
Tinco offered a Peter Rabbit range years ago and felt the time was right for a new look collection.
“We don’t expect to get the massive hit you can get from the likes of the latest movie release license but similarly we don’t expect to get the massive drop in sales once the fad has passed. We envisage a good surge for Easter trading and then a nice steady sell pace throughout the year.”
Walsh says the iconic bunny’s appeal lies in his cute but curious nature which often gets him into trouble. “I think we can all relate to that.”
