Urban Rituelle wins two awards and is headed to the Tokyo Olympics
As an advocate of Australian made products, it is great to see Urban Rituelle win not one but two awards at the recent 2021 Beauty Shortlist Awards.
Fan favourite Flourish Organics collection has been crowned the title of ‘Best Candle’ and ‘Best Hand Cream’ at the awards.
The international awards celebrate the best in natural beauty and wellness, and recognise global and local brands to shine in front of a pro-green audience, says Urban Rituelle founder, Leanne Haining.
“To have our Australian-made products win an international award and to be recognised as global leaders in our industry is a massive honour,” she enthuses.
“We absolutely love what we do and to be rewarded for our passion and dedication on a global scale is an event to be celebrated. We were the only Australian brand to take home two prizes in our category. We are so thrilled to be able to share this recognition with our loyal customers, many of whom we have done business with for over 10 years. In a crowded marketplace, it’s so important that we continue to stand out from the crowd.”
Flourish Organics harnesses the beauty of Australian, certified organic ingredients, along with botanical extracts and pure essential oils, that deliver beautiful results without compromise. Great care has been taken when formulating each product in the collection, selecting highest quality active ingredients, free from artificial colour, artificial fragrances, sulfates and parabens.
“The unique blend of lemongrass, lemon myrtle, grapefruit and eucalyptus essential oils is adored by all and we have hundreds of reviews from raving fans, sharing their love for this fragrance. Our Flourish Organics collection is 100 per cent Australian made, cruelty free and vegan friendly.”
It has been an interesting 12 months or so for Urban Rituelle, with a massive surge in the sales of scented candles and hand creams in 2020. As many of us were homebound and working from home during the lockdown, there was a rising interest in making our homes (and home offices) feel more beautiful. Sales of scented candles tripled from the previous year, as people wanted to create a safe, scented home sanctuary.
“We noticed that instead of going out to dinner with friends or going away on holidays, consumers started spending on themselves and their homes. 2020 also saw an increase in candles and hand creams being sent as care gifts to friends and families, many who were working on the healthcare frontline or had perhaps lost employment during the Covid crisis,” says Haining.
“Sales of hand creams have also increased in the past 12 months, alongside the increase of soaps and hand wash. Hand creams became a necessity for moisturising dry hands and cuticles, especially after all the increased hand washing and sanitising. The sales of these two products continue to be strong throughout 2021.”
And Urban Rituelle’s success doesn’t stop there. Besides winning the two beauty awards, its Flourish Organics collection will be traveling to the 2021 Olympics as the ‘Scent of Australia’.
“Our lemongrass, lemon myrtle, grapefruit and eucalyptus scented candles and fragrant diffusers will be in the Australian Olympic Village to help enhance the athletes’ sense of wellbeing and to remind them of home. It is an incredible privilege to be selected, we feel like gold medal winners already,” enthuses Haining.
“We are also very excited to be attending the Reed Gift Fair in Melbourne in August, after not being able to attend due to Covid in 2020. We will be launching new products in our Natural Remedy collection, as well as a limited edition collection for the festive season. It will be so good to see everyone face to face.”
