Wanderluxe brings Savile Row style to women’s sleepwear
We’re all familiar with the scene in a romcom where the woman slips into her partner’s button down shirt in lieu of pyjamas, but how comfortable could that really be? If it was a Wanderluxe night shirt—inspired by men’s tailoring and made from a soft cotton blend—the answer would be very comfortable indeed.
“We create our own luxury fabrics exclusive to Wanderluxe so we can achieve the perfect balance between fashion and comfort,” says the founder of Wanderluxe Sleepwear, Sherri Kiernikowski. “Our designs are inspired by Savile Row tailoring and we have created the ultimate ‘his shirt for her’ in the process.”
Growing up immersed in her family’s suiting business, Kiernikowski was exposed to the world of fashion from a young age and developed a passion for luxury fabrics and tailoring. In 2016, after being unable to find any sleepwear she loved, Kiernikowski decided to make her dream of creating luxury women’s sleepwear with a masculine touch a reality.
“It was this experience [growing up] and the fact that I wasn’t able to find any sleepwear options that were truly wearable that inspired me to design a range of feminine sleepwear with a masculine edge,” she explains.
Wanderluxe will debut at Life Instyle Sydney with its SS18 collection of pyjamas—including trousers, long-sleeved shirts, boxers, camisoles and night shirts—in a candy pink pinstripe, a white-on-white pinstripe with lilac detailing, and a denim-like blue.
“We’re incredibly excited about this range—it exudes ease and relaxation,” says Kiernikowski. “We’ll also showcase styles from our first collection that includes the best-selling Beresford [a white-on-white pinstripe with mother of pearl buttons and contrast black piping].”
As the founder of a small business, Kiernikowski says the highlight of her journey so far was receiving her very first order. “It made all the hard work seem worth it. I also love receiving positive feedback on the products [as] it confirms we’re on the right track.”
With so much positive feedback surrounding her women’s range, Kiernikowski says to watch this space for Wanderluxe for men.
