Hello & Behold launches online store
Outdoor homewares retailer Hello & Behold hasn’t been around for long, but the newcomer has just launched an online store to bring luxe outdoor living to the masses.
Hello & Behold was started by former marketing manager Suzie Watt, after she failed to find robust outdoor cushions that were also modern and well-designed.
A background in design and marketing, a lifetime of sewing, and a desire to make beautiful things all drove Watt to start the brand, which she launched as part of the Design Arcade at the Grand Designs Live event held in Sydney on October 24.
The brand’s debut range is Australian designed and made, and features a mid-century inspired collection of 12 coordinating outdoor cushions and two macramé hanging pieces. These items are designed to turn any outdoor area into a beautiful and welcoming space, with the same level of sophistication that is brought to interiors.
A driving motivation behind the brand has been the advice offered by 19th century designer William Morris: ‘Have nothing in your homes that you do not know to be useful and believe to be beautiful’. To follow Morris’s advice, Watt focused on creating beautiful pieces with longevity, and on reducing the brand’s environmental impact by following sustainable practices.
All product packaging is recyclable and removable labels allow boxes to be reused. The cushion inserts are made from recycled PET bottles, while the fabric is printed using water-free processes.
Hello & Behold has also partnered with the UNHCR to support the United Nation’s refugee program by donating five per cent of all profits to the charity.
